Any visitor to CosmoCom's Melville Long Island, NY,
headquarters can't help but notice the "CosmoCom
Gallery"…an abundance of striking artwork
adorning the many corridors of our three-level, 60,000
sq.ft. space. But it wasn't always that way! In April of
the year 2000, CosmoCom moved from a small shared office
suite into its new home…and the seeming miles of blank
wallspace called out for innovation. Always the
innovator, CosmoCom set to the task of beautifying our
new home environment, while stimulating the mind and
senses…a formidable task that evolved into a labor of
love…and produced what we feel is a powerful
experience, appreciated by everyone who comes to call!

After several months of collective brainstorming and
painstaking research, the effort gave birth to the
CosmoCom Gallery. Famous reproductions of many of the
world's renowned artists, over 140 pieces in all, wind
down the hallways, interspersed with text narratives of
the major art movements relative to the pieces…and
biographical write-ups of the masters themselves provide
added stories of human interest and historical fact.
Running in tandem with the masterpieces, the visitor
finds a biography of another sort. In direct correlation
with the major art movement are various informative
displays explaining the major technological inventions
or milestones of the same period…a running timeline…beginning
with the Romanticism and Realism movements of the early
1800's and ending with the Postmodern works at the close
of the 20th Century. Alongside the beauty of the art
itself, there also is a glimpse into the major
technological achievements of those snapshots in time,
from the invention of the camera and telegraph to the
wonder of the great frontier of the Internet.
The project itself is interpreted through a sizeable
graphic display in the Lobby where one can preview the
journey through time with capsules of information and
thumbnails of the artwork. A labor of love that we love
to share…

Come join us as we travel through time…we sincerely
hope you enjoy the ride!
