Sometimes people wonder,
"What does the name CosmoCom mean?"
When CosmoCom was formed, we wanted to convey the
notion of complete, yet orderly communications. The
word cosmos, defined as “the universe thought of
as an ordered and harmonious whole,” combined with
com, for communications, seemed to fit. We like to
think of the result, CosmoCom, as a “universe of
complete and harmonious communications.” The
naming of CosmoCall Universe, our core product,
arises naturally as an extension of this “universal”
idea.

We wanted our name to suggest a vision of communication in the scope of the cosmos. And
we were happy to see an article in the New York Times titled "An
Interplanetary Internet* is In the Works" describing a NASA project to extend the
reach of the Internet to space.
According to the article, NASA plans to set up orbiting Internet gateways to allow
Internet-based communications to flow between the Earth and Mars -- or other planets.
These gateways will act as routers, transmitting data using Internet Protocol (IP) - the
same IP that is at the heart of our CosmoCall technology.
IP is rapidly becoming the universal language of communication. CosmoCom is fully
aligned with this trend. Today, the planet. Tomorrow, the solar system. Ultimately, the
cosmos. And CosmoCom will be there.
