CosmoCom Licenses Microsoft Internet Explorer and NetMeeting

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 1998--CosmoCom, Inc. today announced that it has licensed Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0, which includes NetMeeting, Microsoft's realtime collaboration and communication software, with CosmoCall.

CosmoCall is the contact-enabling software developed by CosmoCom to allow live interaction between callers and customer service representatives over the Internet.

"CosmoCall is a software-only solution, including server and client components, which live contact-enables any Web page or network application. The product supports telephone as well as Internet calls, automatically queuing, prioritizing and routing communication sessions based on chat, voice, integrated audio/video and desktop sharing without any other Automatic Call Distributor. Licensing Internet Explorer for inclusion on CosmoCall's installation CD allows easy installation of the Web's best browser along with CosmoCall, fully integrating live multimedia communication into any Web site or network-based application," says Steve Kowarsky, Executive Vice President of CosmoCom.

Kowarsky added, "NetMeeting enhances CosmoCall's voice, video, application sharing, and whiteboard capabilities, and having a full installation of NetMeeting right on the CosmoCall CD-ROM provides ready access to the optimized use of CosmoCall."

"We are pleased that CosmoCom has chosen to include Internet Explorer with CosmoCall," said Craig Beilinson, Internet Explorer product manager at Microsoft Corp. "Internet Explorer's premier browsing functionality along with the award winning NetMeeting Internet conferencing solution help CosmoCall provide even greater value to their customers."

Strategic partners of CosmoCom, Inc., include Computer Associates and Siemens Nixdorf. Under a development partnership for its new object-oriented database, Jasmine, Computer Associates has certified CosmoCall as a technology to live contact-enable Jasmine applications with unprecedented ease and speed. Siemens Nixdorf sells CosmoCall as a business solution in many industry areas, including its next generation set-top boxes for public network operators.

CosmoCom, Inc., with headquarters in Hauppauge, NY, is revolutionizing electronic commerce and customer support via the Web with its live contact-enabling technology. The company was among the first to recognize the need to integrate live, multimedia communication with the Web and other network-based applications, and has been developing the patent-pending CosmoCall solution for more than two years.
