Leading Israeli ISP Offering Live Help Desk Assistance Over The Internet

Surfree Chooses Cosmocall To Deliver Live Assistance To Help Desk Customers

Hauppauge, NY, October 11, 1999 – CosmoCom announced today that Surfree, one of Israel’s largest ISPs, is using their pure IP-based web-enabled call center technology to offer a live interactive Internet help desk service.

Surfree is the first free ISP service in Israel. Subscribers give Surfree demographic data about themselves and their families in return for free Internet access. Surfree’s revenue comes from selling space in the top 10 percent of the users’ computer screen to companies who run banner ads only to the highly segmented demographic niches they choose.

In addition, Surfree is utilizing CosmoCall Universe to launch a fee-based help desk business for computer users. Initially the customer base will consist of new owners of computers purchased from EIM International, one of Israel’s largest manufacturers and distributors of computer hardware. In addition to serving this large customer population, Surfree is donating help desk services to a joint operation between the Israeli Government and the Israeli IT community. By providing fully equipped computers, free Internet access, training and free help desk assistance, "A Computer for Every Child" hopes to raise the levels of computer literacy among the nation’s poorest children.

In order to launch and maintain these diverse business modules, Surfree needed an Internet connectivity solution that was flexible, scalable, reliable and responsive. With CosmoCall Universe, Surfree can offer premium, pre-paid and other options to their paying customers, as well as a special option for those families involved in the "A Computer for Every Child" program, and move those customers through the service queues based on those designations.
