CosmoCom Lands $15.3 Million

Long Island-based CosmoCom (www.cosmocom.com), a customer service provider to e-businesses, has closed more than $15.3 million in mezzanine equity funding from investors led by research and engineering firm Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). The company also says it’s positioning for an IPO in 2000.

The SAIC investment closely follows a September agreement enabling SAIC to resell CosmoCall Universe, an IP-based customer interaction system. The proceeds from the round will fund CosmoCom’s entry into other markets, including sales, marketing, and ongoing development of their main product, CosmoCall Universe.
