CosmoCom Announces VoIP
Connection Server
CosmoCom
announced the availability of the CosmoCall Universe
VoIP Connection Server (VCS). The VCS enables call
centers to connect directly into next-generation VoIP
networks, even for their phone calls, allowing
enterprises to avoid the complexities and costs of
configuring telephone connections and making it easier
for service providers to host call center services.
"Service providers who want to offer call center
hosting to their customers can use a solution like the
VCS, which enables them to take advantage of their
existing investments in VoIP," says Robert Mirani,
Director of CRM Strategies at analyst firm The Yankee
Group. "Enterprises can use this technology to reduce
phone costs by moving their inbound and outbound calls
to lower cost IP network alternatives."
The VCS enables any standard VoIP gateway, in-network
or on-premise, to convert inbound telephone calls into
VoIP sessions for delivery to a CosmoCall Universe
agent. The VCS also handles outbound calls by taking
advantage of existing network gateways, reducing
telephony costs by keeping calls on the IP network until
reaching the gateway closest to the call's endpoint. The
CosmoCall Universe VCS supports voice call functions
including call control, IVR, and voice message
recording.
"Now every VoIP gateway in the world is potentially a
portal into and out of the CosmoCom environment," says
Steve Kowarsky, Executive Vice President at CosmoCom.
"This includes both the live agent environment and the
self-service IVR environment, which the VCS supports in
a purely software mode."
