CosmoCom Upgrades CosmoCall Universe to SIP and Win XP RTP

By Ron Acher | 11/15/2001 18:26

CosmoCom, Inc, announced yesterday the release of an enhanced version of its CosmoCall Universe contact center supporting both SIP and the Windows XP RTC (real time communications) platform. CosmoCom says that these enhancements result in speedier call connections and easier application building, as well as audio comparable to or exceeding toll quality.

RTC technology enhances the ability of the PC to serve as an alternative to the PSTN telephone. CosmoCom has long supported the single-appliance, PC-only desktop for its contact center agents through its all-IP universal access contact center. It believes it is well positioned to take advantage of the the inclusion of the RTC platform services in the Windows XP OS. The inclusion of SIP enables CosmoCall Universe to directly interconnect with SIP-enabled networks and devices.

CosmoCall Universe is a carrier-class system which enables service providers to host contact center applications to their clients. It supports multichannel customer interactions via telephone and Internet, live and message-based, fixed and wireless, all in a single high capacity, high availability, multi-tenant platform. The multi-tenancy feature allows service providers to extend this service to legacy PSTN call centers.

CosmoCall Universe with these enhancements will be generally available by year-end.
