Ignite says its hosted contact-centre service for enterprise customers will incorporate the CosmoCall platform.

CosmoCom, the New York-based provider of contact-centre platforms, has announced a contract with BT Ignite, the business services arm of the U.K. incumbent.

Under the terms of the deal, Ignite will use the CosmoCall Universe platform for its hosted Multimedia Contact Centre (MCC) service. The MCC service, launched in December last year, offers enterprise customers an outsourced call centre. It brings together voice, video and online customer interaction onto an IP platform hosted in the network. The service is available globally.

"This offering will help us tap into a huge global market," said Frank Shaffer, director of managed voice services for BT Ignite. "We identified this opportunity years ago, but only now is the technology to the point where we can provide a world class robust service."

Melville, New York-based CosmoCom said its OEM and service provider partners include BT, Cable & Wireless, France Telecom, Korea Telecom, NTT, PLDT, Rockwell FirstPoint Contact and Sonera.
