REPORT FROM RECENT CALL CENTER SHOWS
Since the last issue of CosmoChronicle, CosmoCom has had quite a presence at two
major call center shows in the Americas. Coincidentally, they both took place in
Florida, which wasn't a bad place to be during the cold winter months. But the
temperature outside the IT Expo/Call Center 2.0 show and the Call Center Demo
show was not the only thing that was hot. Judging from booth activity at the two
shows, so was the interest in unified customer communications, virtual contact
center and CosmoCom's solutions for both.
At
IT Expo/Call Center 2.0 in Ft. Lauderdale at the end of January, CosmoCom had a
duel presence with our own booth in the Call Center 2.0 part of the show (where
we won Best of Show as mentioned above) as well as being
part of SIP trunking partner, BandTel's booth near the entrance of the show. It
was hard not to notice CosmoCom with the combined presence as well as our logo
projected on the entrance wall and on the Call Center 2.0 badges. As a result,
our guys could barely keep up with the activity at the two locations.
The recent Call Center Demo in Miami last week was equally busy. Our reps at the
show indicated a lot of interest in CosmoCom's technology and a desire to see
more. We're sure they're going to be quite busy with follow-up meetings in the
weeks and months to come.

BITS & PIECES: SOME VOIP FACTOIDS
VoIP clocks 1,079 billion minutes in 2006
The 8th annual VoIP industry report published by iLocus recently, reveals that
there were estimated 37.5 million VoBB subscribers worldwide as of end 2006.
16.5 million new VoBB subscribers were added during 2006. US added almost 3
million new VoBB subscribers during 2006. France and Germany added about 2.15
million and 1.16 million new VoBB subscribers respectively during 2006.
Other markets which were aggressive in expanding VoBB subscriber base in 2006
include Netherlands, Canada, and Italy.

carried by service providers worldwide in 2006. Of these minutes, 382.3 billion

Service Delivery Platforms Bringing SOA to Phone Companies
According to a new report from Insight Research, telecommunications
companies will be investing billions of dollars over the next five years on
service delivery platforms (SDPs) in order to bring the benefits of on-demand
services to their wireline and mobility enterprise customers, says a new report
from Insight Research. SDPs are computing platforms and software that support
emerging standards such as IMS and SIP while continuing to inter-work with
legacy protocols.
According to the study, "IMS, SIP and Service Delivery Platforms: Telecom
Adoption of SOA and Enterprise Applications 2007-2011," SDP adoption by carriers
will facilitate the delivery of on-demand telecommunications services by
integrating network element performance with critical business processes.
Functionally, these SDPs will enable the adoption of a service-oriented
architecture (SOA), making it possible to reuse individual service components in
order to quickly build a new enterprise service, as well as to separate the
creation and execution of new service applications from the underlying network.
"These platforms will loosen the knot that ties network elements to business
processes, thus increasing carrier flexibility when it comes to BSSes and
service creation, which should translate to quicker time to market for new
services," says Robert Rosenberg, President of Insight Research. "This loose
coupling of business processes means that carriers will also be able to work
more efficiently with their business chain partners," Rosenberg concludes.
